HOUSTON (AP) - Houston All-Pro middle linebacker DeMeco Ryans has been carted off the field with an injury just before halftime of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Ryans jumped and fell to the turf on a touchdown by the Chiefs, but it was unclear what the injury was. He remained on the turf for a few minutes while trainers attended to him before being helped to the cart. Ryans, a second-round pick in 2006, has had more than 110 tackles in each of his first four NFL seasons.Copyright © 200 |

Still, the inconsistency hasn't cost much in the AFC West standings, where Josh McDaniels and Co. sit in a three-way tie for second, a game-and-a-half behind the unlikely front-running Kansas City Chiefs. Denver dropped a 31-17 decision at Baltimore last week and was gashed for 415 total yards - including 233 on the ground, 133 on 27 punishing carries by Ray Rice. The Broncos fell to 25th in the league in run defense. New York, incidentally, is firs |

| 49ers, who have disappointed so far with an 0-5 start and desperately need a victory this weekend. Despite the winless start, the NFC West isn't that far out of reach for San Francisco, while the Raiders are right behind the AFC West-leading and 3-1 Kansas City Chiefs. The 49ers certainly have the offensive tools to come out on top in this one, it all just depends on if Smith can put it all together. Smith is fighting for his job, while Campbell is looking to reclaim his starting role with another solid effort. T |

Wide receiver Andre Johnson returned after missing the previous week's game at Oakland due to a high ankle sprain, while linebacker Brian Cushing made his season debut after sitting out the first four contests due to suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. Johnson made five catches for 95 yards and Cushing logged nine tackles and two quarterback hits. The Texans hope the two can have an impact again this weekend in a home meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs. |

It's not fair to the offense or defense what we're doing, so we've got to get it fixed." CHIEFS: Although the Kansas City Chiefs took the field on Sunday as the NFL's lone remaining unbeaten team, there wasn't anything very surprising about their 19-9 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. | (MySportsbook) - Though the standings may reflect the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs are the NFL's lone remaining undefeated team as they enter Sunday's matchup with the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium, respect is not yet an area where Todd Haley's team tops the charts. The oddsmakers have installed the 3-0 Chiefs as more than a touchdown underdog in Indianapolis on Sunday, and the Week 5 contest against the reigning AFC champs will see Kansas City attempting to win over at least a few more skeptics. |

It was during those friendly 7-on-7 drills back in Knoxville that rookie safety Eric Berry learned a lesson that might work to the advantage of the Kansas City Chiefs in Indianapolis this week. ``Don't bite on the pump fake,'' Berry said with a big grin. Sounds elementary. But the Chiefs (3-0) - the only unbeaten team left in the NFL - are mining every possible avenue for every scrap of information they can g |

CHIEFS: What type of odds do you think a Vegas sportsbook would have given you on the Kansas City Chiefs - they of the 10-38 record over the past three seasons - being the NFL's lone remaining unbeaten at any point in the 2010 season? The win left the NFL with only one undefeated team - the idle Kansas City Chiefs (3-0). Yes, the Chiefs. ``We tried everything we could,'' Bears center Olin Kreutz said. ``Give the Giants all the credit in the world. They played lights out tonight.''
