ASHBURN, Va. (AP) -Washington Redskins quarterback Mark Brunell missed most of practice Thursday with a sore groin, although the injury isn't expected to keep him out of Saturday's preseason game against the New England Patriots. Brunell said he was injured Tuesday. He practiced Wednesday and suited up again for Thursday's session, taking part in some individual drills before calling it a day. ``I tweaked my groin a little bit. Just being safe today,'' Brunell said. ``Got warmed up a little bit, and it was t |

The way Junior Seau looks at it, he's now in graduate school. Seau returned to the NFL on Friday after a four-day retirement, trading surfing in San Diego for a one-year contract with the New England Patriots that the 12-time Pro Bowl linebacker hopes will pay off with a long-sought Super Bowl ring. ``I'm going after my master's now,'' the jet-lagged Seau said in a conference call. That was a reference to his lavish retirement ceremony Monday at the San Diego Chargers' headquarters when he said: ``I'm not |

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -Tom Brady was looking for a place to work out when he called Barry Bonds' personal trainer ``five or six years ago'' but the two never got together, the New England Patriots quarterback said Thursday. ``That was the first of it and the last of it,'' Brady said after practice. ``I never heard from him again.'' Government lawyers are investigating whether the San Francisco Giants slugger lied under oath when he told an earlier grand jury he didn't know whether his trainer, Greg Anderson |

In a June statement to prosecutors about his intentions to stay mum, Greg Anderson said he and the New England Patriots quarterback had spoken over the phone - but never established further contact. ``I had only one brief conversation with Tom Brady regarding a potential future workout,'' Anderson said. ``I never had another phone conversation with him and never di |
