Merry Christmas - the Rams stink NFL Football 12/27/2005
he Rams stink === By Jim Brighters, NFL Analyst (MySportsbook) - Pop quiz. The San Francisco 49ers have won three games in this dreadful 2005 campaign. What team have the lowly 49ers beaten twice in this dismal season? For all of you that said the St. Louis Rams, you get the gold star. On Christmas Eve, the 49ers topped the Rams, 24-20. The loss was the fourth in a row for the Rams, and ensured a losing record at Edward Jones Dome for this year. Also, the 49ers swept the season series with the Rams for the

Williams was the 2004 Dallas Cowboys Man of the Year. UP NEXT: THE RAMS The Cowboys will host the St. Louis Rams in the regular-season finale on January 1. Dallas, which needs help from other teams to advance to the postseason, won the previous matchup against St. Louis, in the 2002 season. On Monday, he released inconsistent kicker Billy Cundiff. Veteran safety Tony Dixon was re-signed in case Pro Bowl safety Roy Williams' injured left foot bothers him.

Parcells' focus is solely on the finale against the St. Louis Rams, not on the help Dallas needs from other teams. And especially not a report that claims he's considering retirement.

``I'm not talking about any of that,'' Parcells said Monday, when asked about his coaching future. ``When you're 64 years old, the

ST. LOUIS (AP) - This is the kind of season the St. Louis Rams have endured: Rookie cornerback Ron Bartell didn't even dress for the first six games of the season and now he's preparing for his sixth straight start.

Attrition has exacted a toll on a team that will miss the playoffs for only the second time in seven seasons. With two games to go nine players are on injured reserve, including quarterback Marc Bulger, both cornerbacks, two starting linebackers and the starting tight end.

After the Panthers, Dallas ends the regular season at home against the St. Louis Rams on New Year's Day.

The last time Dallas played Carolina was in the 2003 NFC wild-card round, a 29-10 loss that ended coach Bill Parcells' first season. That was the third first-round playoff elimination for the Cowboys since the 1996 season, a yea

Rams place Bulger, Claiborne on injured reserve NFL Football 12/21/2005

ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger was placed on injured reserve Wednesday and will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.

The Rams also placed middle linebacker Chris Claiborne on injured reserve, raising the number of St. Louis players on IR to nine.

Bulger will miss his fifth straight game on Sunday with an injury sustained against the Arizona Cardinals on Nov. 20.

Rookie Ryan Fitzpatrick has started the last three games, but interim coach Joe Vitt said Wednesday

St. Louis, MO (MySportsbook) - The St. Louis Rams placed quarterback Marc Bulger and linebacker Chris Claiborne on injured reserve Wednesday. Bulger appeared in only eight games this season as he battled shoulder problems through much of the year. Most recently, Bulger suffered a bruised shoulder in a 38-28 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 11. The injury came after Bulger was sacked by Adrian Wilson in the third quarter of the loss and went down on the same shoulder that caused him to miss two games e

UP NEXT San Francisco will next week face one of the two opponents it has defeated this season, namely the St. Louis Rams. The Niners were 28-25 winners over the Rams at Monster Park back in Week 1. The Rams are 6-0 against the 49ers in the last six meetings between the two in the Arch City, with San Francisco last winning there in 1998.

UP NEXT: A FAMILIAR FOE Arizona will next host the 6-8 Philadelphia Eagles, who are coming off a win against the St. Louis Rams. The Cardinals franchise is 52-52-5 all-time against the Eagles. They have lost four of the last five meetings with their former division rivals following a stretch of five straight wins.
