Detroit, MI (My Sportsbook) - Dallas Stars center Mike Modano is expected to miss at least the next five games with a mild concussion suffered in Tuesday's game in Philadelphia. Modano will return to Dallas on Friday morning, while the Stars continue on their road trip. The Stars face the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday evening in the third contest of a seven-game swing. "Mike has had lingering headaches over the last two days and we want to err on the side of caution with this injury," Stars general manager Doug Armstrong said. The injury occurred in the first period when the Flyers' Jeremy Roenick slammed Modano head-first into the boards. Modano, who had scored 29 seconds into the game, laid on the ice for several minutes before being helped to the locker room. Roenick was given a five-minute major for the hit and was suspended for two games on Wednesday. Modano, who recorded his 1,000th career point earlier in the season, has 13 goals and 22 assists in 33 games this season.
