New Orleans, LA (My Sportsbook) - The New Orleans Hornets acquired guard Matt Carroll from the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for forward Hakim Warrick on Tuesday.

Carroll, in his ninth NBA season, has averaged 6.6 points and 1.9 rebounds over the course of his career, but has appeared in just one of the Bobcats' first five contests this season.

He has played in 459 career games, spending time with Portland, San Antonio and Dallas in addition to the Bobcats.

Warrick, who was picked 19th overall out of Syracuse in the 2005 draft, has also appeared in just one game this season. The Hornets acquired Warrick from the Phoenix Suns this past summer, where he averaged 6.4 points and 2.6 rebounds in 35 games during the 2011-12 campaign.

For his career, he has averaged 9.5 points and 4.1 rebounds in seven NBA seasons. The 30-year-old Philadelphia native, who was originally drafted by Memphis, has also played for the Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls.
