San Diego, CA (My Sportsbook) - The San Diego Padres brought back veteran hurler Jason Marquis on Monday, agreeing to terms with the right-hander on a one-year contract.

Marquis, who was signed by the Padres in late May after the Twins released him, went 6-7 with a 4.04 earned run average in 15 starts for San Diego until a broken left wrist ended his season in late August. All told, he pitched to an 8-11 and 5.22 ERA in 22 starts split between both leagues.

Entering his 14th major league season, the native of Long Island and former late-round pick of Atlanta in 1996 has compiled a 112-109 record and 4.60 ERA in 348 games (289 starts) for the Braves, Cardinals, Cubs, Rockies, Nationals, Diamondbacks, Twins and Padres.
