Lake Tahoe, NV (My Sportsbook) - Former NFL quarterback Billy Joe Tolliver eagled the par-five 18th on Saturday to move into the lead after two rounds of the 16th annual American Century Celebrity Golf Championship.
Using the modified Stableford scoring system, the closing eagle raised Tolliver's total to 56 points, just two points clear of six-time winner and former major league pitcher Rick Rhoden.
Tolliver, who won this crown in 1996, carded a three-under 69 that included a pair of eagles.
In the modified Stableford scoring system, players get 10 points for a double- eagle, eight points for a hole-in-one, six points for an eagle, three points for a birdie, one point for a par, none for a bogey and minus-two for a double bogey or worse.
Rhoden, who has played in several Champions Tour events this year, moved to 54 points thanks to four birdies during his round.
Another former quarterback, Chris Chandler, also eagled the last to move to 51 points and is alone in third place. Two more quarterbacks are right behind Chandler - Trent Dilfer (48 points) and Mark Rypien (47 points).
Former NHL player Dan Quinn, who has won three of the last four titles at this event, stands in eighth place at 41 points.
A pair of active NFL players are just outside the top-10. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Tommy Maddox is in 11th with 37 points, while St. Louis Rams running back Marshall Faulk is one point back at 36.
NBA legend Michael Jordan is well down the leaderboard with 19 points. Maddox's teammate, Ben Roethlisberger, has 11 points and stands two points behind Houston Texan quarterback David Carr.
Charles Barkley is in a tight battle for last place. He is currently last with minus-57, but is just two points behind Brad Garrett, who starred in the sitcom 'Everybody Loves Raymond'.
