Cincinnati, OH (My Sportsbook) - Cincinnati Reds catcher Jason LaRue will have season-ending surgery Tuesday to repair a hernia. Reds' medical director, doctor Timothy Kremchek, will operate at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, the team announced on Monday. LaRue, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list, established career highs this season with a .249 average and 52 RBI in 113 games for Cincinnati. He tied his career high with 12 home runs. Corky Miller, who is batting .250 with three homers and 15 RBI in 37 games this season for Cincinnati, will be recalled from Louisville to share the catching duties with Kelly Stinnett for the remainder of the season. Miller hit .231 with six homers and 21 RBI in 43 games for Louisville this season.
