Pittsburgh, PA (My Sportsbook) - Pittsburgh Penguins superstar center Mario Lemieux will miss the team's Thursday night game against the Toronto Maple Leafs with an injured groin. Lemieux left the contest in the second period of Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the New York Islanders, after he fell in the Islanders' zone. He said the injury didn't appear serious, and hopes to play in Saturday's contest against the New York Rangers. "I just felt a little pop," Lemieux said after the game. "It's just a strain, but I won't know until I get up tomorrow and see how it feels and really go from there. With groins, you never know." Lemieux scored his 20th goal of the season early in the second period to tie the game at 1-1, but left the contest soon after. He reached the 20-goal plateau for the 12th time in his career, and leads the NHL with 68 points this season. This is only the second game of the year that Lemieux will miss, and the first due to injury. Last season, Lemieux was hampered by a hip injury that limited him to just six goals and 25 assists in 24 games. He has already played in 40 of Pittsburgh's 41 games this season.
