Mike Fisher scored twice for Ottawa, which has split the first two of a four- game road trip that concludes Saturday in Edmonton. Martin Havlat and Steve Martins also scored for the Senators.
Patrick Lalime made 19 saves on 25 shots and was pulled in favor of Ray Emery, who stopped all four shots he faced in his first NHL action.
Marian Hossa failed to light the lamp in the loss, but still leads the team with 27 goals and 16 assists.
Ottawa, which is 11-6-4 on the road this year, is 5-4-1 on the season against the Western Conference. Ottawa is also 7-1-1 in its last nine road tilts.
The Senators, who are 6-2-1 in their last nine overall against the Flames, are unbeaten in their last four versus Calgary (3-0-1). Ottawa has also won two straight and three of their last four in Calgary.
