Washington Wizards look to regain their winning ways Saturday when they travel to New York to battle the Knicks in an Atlantic Division clash.
The Wizards had a five-game winning streak snapped in their last outing, falling to the Golden State Warriors on Friday, 104-99.
Jerry Stackhouse led the way for the Wizards with 26 points, while Larry Hughes chipped in 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.
Michael Jordan tallied 14 points and Christian Laettner added 10 for the Wizards, who were outrebounded by Golden State 48-34.
The game was tied at 95-95 late in the fourth, but the Warriors outscored the Wizards 9-4 the rest of the way to go on to the victory.
The Wizards are 6-11 on the road this season and 14-10 against the Eastern Conference, with a 4-6 mark against the Atlantic.
Meanwhile, the Knicks halted a three-game slide on Friday by topping the 76ers in Philadelphia, 114-112.
Latrell Sprewell tallied 31 points, highlighted by seven three-pointers, and dished out eight assists to lead New York.
Allan Houston also netted 31 points for the Knicks, who set a franchise-record with 16 three-pointers. Charlie Ward collected 17 points and six assists off the bench,
The Knicks took the lead for good at 108-107 after Sprewell passed the ball out to Ward, who drained a three with just 31.1 seconds to play. On the next possession, the Sixers had the opportunity to go in front but Kenny Thomas missed both shots from the stripe with 24.6 seconds remaining.
New York is 9-10 at home this season and 9-16 against the Eastern Conference, including a 3-9 record within the Atlantic.
These teams met back on December 7 in Washington, with the Wizards pulling out a 100-97 victory.
Washington has claimed the last four meetings overall, but has dropped four of its last five in New York.
