Washington is 2-0-2 in its last four games overall, including Saturday's 12-1 shellacking of visiting Florida. All-Star starter Jaromir Jagr recorded a hat trick and four assists for the Caps, and Peter Bondra and Dainius Zubrus both scored twice. The Capitals matched their best scoring output since a 12-2 win over the Quebec Nordiques on February 6, 1990. They also tied the club mark for most unanswered goals, as the Panthers didn't reach the scoresheet until it was 9-0.
