Pittsburgh, PA (My Sportsbook) - The Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Thursday they have released outfielder Adrian Brown. Brown, 28, hit only .216 with just one homer and 21 RBI in 91 games with Pittsburgh this season. He also appeared in 51 games with Triple-A Nashville of the Pacific Coast League this year. He has spent all six of his major league seasons with the Pirates, and has a career average of .261 with 11 homers and 83 RBI. The Pirates also announced they claimed righthanded pitcher Jim Mann off of waivers from the Houston Astros. The 27-year-old pitcher spent most of last season in Triple-A New Orleans. He appeared in 17 games with the Astros with an 0-1 record and 4.09 ERA, and has also spent time in his three-year career with the New York Mets.
