Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - The Denver Nuggets will be without forward Marcus Camby for the start of the regular season after doctors discovered a tear in his right hip that will require surgery. A MRI on Wednesday revealed the injury, and Camby is scheduled to undergo surgery Thursday night in Pittsburgh. It is unclear whether Camby suffered a new tear, or re-aggravated the injury that caused him to miss 29 games last season with the New York Knicks. The oft-injured Camby has never played in more than 63 games in a single season during his six-year career. The team is hopeful he may be able to be back in action by December, but no official timetable for his return will be set until after Thursday's surgery. Camby, 29, was acquired by the Nuggets as part of the offseason trade that sent Antonio McDyess to the Knicks on June 26th. In 323 career regular season games, Camby has averaged 11.5 ppg, 8.10 rebounds and 2.28 blocks.
