Montreal, Quebec (My Sportsbook) - The Montreal Expos and catcher Michael Barrett agreed to terms on a one-year contract for the 2003 season, avoiding arbitration in the process. The deal is worth $2.6 million. Barrett, a five-year veteran, has a career average of .260 with 28 homers and 163 RBI in 472 games. Barrett can still be traded by Montreal if it wants to continue to reduce its payroll. Earlier on Wednesday the Expos traded All-Star pitcher Bartolo Colon to the Chicago White Sox in a three-team trade that sent righthanded pitcher Orlando Hernandez to Montreal.
