Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - The Chicago Cubs agreed to terms Thursday on a minor league contract with outfielder Tom Goodwin and invited him to spring training as a non-roster player. Goodwin appeared in 78 games last season for the Giants and hit .260 with one homer and 17 RBI. The 34-year-old Goodwin has spent 12 seasons in the majors with Los Angeles (1991-1993 and 2000-2001), Kansas City (1994-1997), Texas (1997-1999), Colorado (2000) and San Francisco (2002). In 1,124 big league games, he has batted .269 with 345 stolen bases, 23 homers and 269 RBI. He will enter the 2003 campaign needing 41 hits to reach the 1,000 mark for his career.
