(My Sportsbook) - It seemed like it was going to go on forever, but the Bulls' road losing streak finally came to an end.
Jalen Rose poured in 37 points on 15-of-21 shooting from the floor, as the Chicago Bulls halted a 19-game road losing streak with a 115-102 victory over Atlanta at Philips Arena.
Rose was 7-of-10 from three-point range and also handed out five assists. Marcus Fizer contributed 24 points and 10 rebounds for Chicago, which exploded for 41 points in the fourth quarter by hitting 16-of-18 field goal attempts. Fizer had 14 points and Rose added 13 in the final period.
Rick Brunson, who was activated from the injured list just prior to the game, scored all 12 of his points in the fourth quarter. Brunson also dished out seven assists for the Bulls, who had not won away from home since opening the season with a victory at Boston October 30.
"It's a big-time burden being lifted," Rose said. "We're in decent shape if we can find a way to play better on the road."
Shareef Abdur-Rahim paced the Hawks with 27 points. Jason Terry collected 23 points and seven assists for Atlanta, which has dropped five in a row and 11 of its last 13 contests. Glenn Robinson chipped in 20 points and eight boards for the Hawks.
Bulls coach Bill Cartwright was pleased that Brunson delivered on his one opportunity.
"That is a classic example of what a pro is all about," Cartwright said. "He came in and got and an opportunity and took advantage of it. He's done a good job of keeping himself in shape."
Chicago once again plays a road game on Wednesday night. The Bulls travel to Orlando to take on the Magic at TD Waterhouse Centre.
The Magic have won 13 of the past 15 meetings overall. Chicago has lost seven straight in Orlando.
Orlando has won two straight games entering Wednesday's contest. The Magic are 12-8 at home this season and 13-12 against teams from the Eastern Conference.
