Salt Lake City, UT (My Sportsbook) - Two Midwest Division rivals do battle on Friday when the
San Antonio Spurs travel to Utah to face off with the Jazz at the Delta Center.
The Spurs had a four-game winning streak snapped in their last outing, falling to the Memphis Grizzlies at home on Wednesday, 98-93. San Antonio had won the previous 21 encounters with the Grizzlies.
Tim Duncan scored 30 points and owned the glass with 21 rebounds for the Spurs. San Antonio ended its five-game homestand at 4-1 and fell for the first time in 10 tries at the SBC Center.
Stephen Jackson scored 17 points and Tony Parker collected 10 points and eight assists for the Spurs, who only shot 37 percent from the field and were just 2-of-15 from behind the arc.
The Spurs are 8-11 on the road this season and 17-10 against the Western Conference, with a 7-3 mark against the Midwest.
The Jazz also had a four-game winning streak halted in their last outing, suffering a 96-89 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Utah fell to 3-1 on its five-game homestand and had a seven-game home winning streak snapped.
Karl Malone netted 23 points and Matt Harpring chipped in 22 for Utah. Malone and Harpring also had eight boards apiece. John Stockton contributed 14 points and nine assists for the Jazz.
Andrei Kirilenko scored 12 points for Utah, which shot just 40 percent from the floor.
The Jazz are 15-5 in their building this season and 14-7 against the Western Conference, including 8-1 within the Midwest.
The Spurs have dominated this series recently, winning the last 10 encounters. These teams met back on November 30 in San Antonio, with the Spurs claiming a 107-85 victory.
San Antonio has won four straight in Salt Lake City.
