Anaheim, CA (My Sportsbook) - The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim claimed left wing Mike Brown off waivers from the Vancouver Canucks on Friday. Brown, a former first-round draft pick, failed to register a point in 15 games with the Canucks last season. The 6-4, 225-pounder netted seven goals and handed out nine assists in 31 games with Manitoba (AHL). Brown, who played for Anaheim general manager Bryan Murray in Florida, was the Panthers' first-round pick -- 20th overall -- in the 1997 draft. He went to Vancouver in 1999 as part of the trade that sent Pavel Bure to the Florida Panthers.
