Phoenix, AZ (My Sportsbook) - The Arizona Diamondbacks signed lefthander Ron Villone and righthander Mike Jackson to minor-league contracts Wednesday and invited both to spring training. The 33-year-old Villone was 4-6 with a 5.81 ERA in 45 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates last season. He owns a career 33-37 record with five saves and a 5.04 ERA in 319 games with the Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres, Milwaukee Brewers, Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Colorado Rockies, Houston Astros and Pirates during eight major-league seasons. The 38-year-old Jackson collected a 2-3 record with a 3.27 ERA in 58 games last season for the Minnesota Twins. He has a 60-67 career record with a 3.35 ERA and 142 saves in 960 games with the Philadelphia Phillies, Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Reds, Indians, Astros and Twins over the course of 16 major- league seasons.
