Sunrise, FL (My Sportsbook) - The Florida Panthers have come to terms on a three-year contract extension with goaltender Jani Hurme. The 28-year-old Hurme was acquired from the Ottawa Senators just before the start of the season. He has played 19 games this season and has a 4-6-5 record with one shutout. "No team can be successful at any level without good goaltending," said Panthers general manager Rick Dudley. "We now feel we have the best goaltending tandem in the National Hockey League for years to come. It allows us now to put goaltending worries aside so we can concentrate on the other facets of the team." Hurme has a 29-20-10 record with six shutouts in his NHL career. Roberto Luongo is Florida's No. 1 goaltender, but he has struggled this season with a 11-22-5-2 mark.
