Tucson, AZ (My Sportsbook) - The Harness Tracks of America announced Friday its 2005 divisional champions in 12 categories. The winners were voted on by the racing secretaries of the 41 member tracks.
Hambletonian winner Vivid Photo is the champion three-year-old male trotter. He won 16 of 25 starts for more than $1.4 million. Vivid Photo also won the World Trotting Derby and finished second in the Breeders Crown trot to Strong Yankee.
The champion three-year-old male pacer is Rocknroll Hanover. He won the Breeders Crown pace last month at the Meadowlands and is a strong candidate for 2005 Horse of the Year. Rocknroll Hanover won more than $2.2 million this year with 12 wins in 18 starts. Earlier this year he won the Meadowlands Pace and the North America Cup.
Boulder Creek has been named the top older male pacer and Loyal Opposition is the champion older female pacer. Boulder Creek earned $978,645 and Loyal Opposition won $673,525.
The champion three-year-old female pacer is Cabrini Hanover who earned $917,440 while winning eight of 18 races. She finished in the money in all her starts in 2005. Cabrini Hanover registered victories in the Nadia Lobell and the Fan Hanover.
Breeders crown winner Blur in the champion three-year-old female trotter for 2005. With the win in the Matron at Dover Downs, Blur completes the year with seven wins in 12 starts and $867,453.
The older trotters for 2005 are Hellava Hush and Peaceful Way. Top male trotter Hellava Hush earned $522,720 this year and top female Peaceful Way won $660,804.
In the two-year-old pacing categories, Breeders Crown winner Jereme's Jet is the champion male and Darlin's Delight is the champion female. Jereme's Jet closed 2005 with six wins in seven starts for more than $1 million. Darlin's Delight earned $560,404 with nine wins in 14 starts.
Breeders Crown winner Chocolotier is the champion two-year-old trotting male. He won eight of ten races this year for $508,250.
Passionate Glide, winner of her Breeders Crown event, has been named top two-year-old female trotter. She earned $638,947 while winning five of 11 starts.
The Nova awards will be presented at the Night of Champions dinner on February 8 in Las Vegas.
