Bronx, NY (My Sportsbook) - The New York Yankees' bid of $350,000 has won them the rights to negotiate with pitcher Ramon Ramirez of the Hiroshima Carp, a Central League team. The Yankees have 30 days to sign Ramirez to a contract. Under the posting system, the negotiating rights for Japanese players can be sold to the major league team making the highest bid. Seattle's Ichiro Suzuki and the Dodgers' Kazuhisa Ishii also joined the major leagues through the posting system. Ramirez, a 21-year-old right-handed hurler, is a native of the Dominican Republic. Last year for Hiroshima, Ramirez appeared in two games and was not involved a decision. He had a 3.00 ERA.
