East Rutherford, NJ (My Sportsbook) - Two days after having their eight-game home winning streak snapped, the
New Jersey Devils look to start a new string when they welcome former coach Jacque Lemaire and his Minnesota Wild to the Meadowlands.
Lemaire guided the Devils to the 1995 Stanley Cup.
The Devils, who are 12-1-1-1 in their last 15 games overall, dropped a 4-2 decision to the Atlanta Thrashers on Friday.
Patrik Elias and Stephen Guolla scored for New Jersey, which had not lost in 14 straight games during regulation. The Devils also missed out on their shot at setting a new franchise record for consecutive victories in their own building.
Elias is riding a four-game point streak with two goals and six assists in that span.
Martin Brodeur stopped 15-of-19 shots in net for New Jersey, which leads the Atlantic Division with 73 points, four more than the second-place Philadelphia Flyers.
On the injury front, defenseman Colin White, who was hit in the foot with a shot Friday night, did not practice on Saturday and is questionable for today's game.
The Devils, who will hit the road for a pair of games following this afternoon's affair, are 19-7-1-1 at home on the season.
Minnesota, meanwhile, comes into Sunday's matinee on a two-game winning streak following a milestone win for the franchise on Friday. Cliff Ronning and Antti Laaksonen scored third-period goals to propel the Wild to a 4-3 win over San Jose, as the team established a new record for wins in a season with 27.
Richard Park and Pascal Dupuis also scored for Minnesota, which won just 26 games last season and 25 the year before.
Dwayne Roloson turned aside 21 shots for the Wild, who with 63 points trail the Northwest Division-leading Vancouver Canucks by seven points.
Minnesota, which has tallied more than two goals just once in its last eight games, will be starting a brief two-game road trip tonight. The Wild, who will conclude the swing in Philadelphia on Monday, are 11-8-5-1 away from home this season.
New Jersey is unbeaten in all three meetings with the Wild (2-0-1) and posted a 6-2 win in the Wild's only visit to the Garden State.
