Chicago, IL (My Sportsbook) - The Chicago White Sox on Monday avoided arbitration with catcher A.J. Pierzynski and agreed to a three-year contract worth $15 million. Pierzynski, who will turn 29 on December 30, batted .257 with a career-high 18 homers and 56 runs batted in last year for the World Series champion White Sox, who won their first title since 1917. He also finished with a .999 fielding percentage and a 119-game errorless streak, the longest active streak among catchers. The All-Star catcher started all 12 postseason games for the White Sox, batting .262 with four doubles, three home runs and nine RBI. Chicago pitchers compiled a 2.16 ERA, including four complete games, with Pierzynski behind the plate in the playoffs. Pierzynski is a career .287 hitter with 55 home runs and 326 RBI with Minnesota, San Francisco and the White Sox.
