Toronto, Ontario (My Sportsbook) - Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Ed Belfour is expected to miss the next three games because of an infected right thumb. He sat out Saturday's game against Ottawa because of the injury. Belfour is in his first season with Toronto after signing as a free agent this off-season. He made 33 saves in a 6-0 shutout of Pittsburgh in the Leafs' season-opener on Thursday. The injury apparently occurred when he cut his thumb after the final pre- season game. Trevor Kidd, who started in Toronto's 2-1 loss to the Senators on Saturday, is expected to start again on Monday when the Leafs play Pittsburgh. Toronto, and likely Kidd, will then play the Rangers on Tuesday and Phoenix on Thursday.
