Philadelphia, PA (My Sportsbook) - The Philadelphia Flyers have come to terms on a two-year contract extension with defenseman Marcus Ragnarsson. The 31-year-old Ragnarsson has three goals and 10 assists in 43 games this season, including two goals and three assists in 18 games for the Flyers. Ragnarsson was dealt from the San Jose Sharks to the Flyers in exchange for Dan McGillis on December 6. "Marcus was going to be an unrestricted free agent in July and we wanted to keep him," said Flyers president and general manager Bobby Clarke. "We believe that Marcus is one of the more solid defensemen in the league. He will give us a good 20 or more minutes each night, playing against the better lines in the league." In eight NHL seasons with San Jose and the Flyers, Ragnarsson has registered 30 goals and 128 assists over 537 career NHL games. He is the Sharks' all-time leading scorer among defensemen.
