Lake Forest, IL (My Sportsbook) - Chicago Bears running back Anthony Thomas became a hero off the field Sunday night when he helped to pull a man out of a burning car. Thomas, the 2001 Offensive Rookie of the Year, was on his way to teammate David Terrell's house when he stopped on Route 60 around 11:30 p.m. to pull an unidentified man out of the vehicle. The Bears had a bye on Sunday and Thomas and his wife, Hayley, noticed smoke coming out of the vehicle. They passed the car, but doubled back to investigate and the car became engulfed in flames. "The car was smoking at first, but it wasn't really on fire," Thomas said. "But when I got there and pulled over, it went 'boom' and the tire popped and a big fire blew out." Thomas, his wife, and another bystander rescued the man, who reportedly wasn't hurt. "We've got a superhero on the team," Terrell said. "He saved a guy's life and I thought that you all should know that. It was a cool thing for him to do that."
