Santa Clara, CA (My Sportsbook) - The San Francisco 49ers tendered contract offers to restricted free agents Ken Dorsey and wide receiver Brandon Lloyd on Thursday. Now that they have received qualifying offers, Dorsey and Lloyd can negotiate with other clubs until April 21, at which point their rights will revert back to the Niners. San Francisco has the option to match any offer from a new club. If they opt not to match, the organization will receive draft-choice compensation. Dorsey, a two-time Heisman Trophy finalist for Miami, has started 10 games at quarterback since being taken in the seventh round of the NFL Draft by San Francisco in 2003. In three starts last season, he completed 53 percent of his passes for 481 yards with two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions. Dorsey has thrown eight TDs to 11 picks thus far in his pro career. Lloyd, meanwhile, got off to a hot start in 2005 but finished with 733 yards and five touchdowns. The three-year veteran out of Illinois has accrued 105 catches for 1,510 yards (14.4 avg.) with 13 touchdowns in 45 games with the 49ers. The club also announced that they made exclusive rights tenders to safety Mike Adams and running back Maurice Hicks.
