Tampa, FL (My Sportsbook) - New York Yankees second baseman Alfonso Soriano missed the team's spring training opener on Thursday against Cincinnati due to a sore right shoulder. Soriano took batting practice with the club, but is expected to miss two or three days. He is not likely to be available for Friday's contest against Philadelphia in Clearwater, Florida. The 24-year-old has ended negotiations on a one-year contract. New York can renew the infielder's contract up until March 2. The four-year veteran made $630,000 last season.
