Houston, TX (My Sportsbook) - Houston Rockets guard Moochie Norris will be sidelined for about three weeks with a dislocated right pinkie finger. Norris, the only Rocket to play in every game last season, will have surgery to repair the injury. Norris was hurt fighting for a loose ball early in Tuesday night's 96-93 exhibition victory over San Antonio. Norris, who is entering his fourth season with the Rockets, started 26 of the 82 games he played in during the 2001-02 campaign and averaged 8.1 points and 4.9 assists. "He dislocated it, and I could not reduce it (pop it back into place)," Rockets trainer Keith Jones told the Houston Chronicle. "Sometimes you can do it with normal pulling. I tried to reduce it on the court. The doctor tried to reduce it in the locker room. We sent him to a hand specialist, and he tried to reduce it. We had to go with an open reduction (surgery)." The Rockets, who were without guard Steve Francis last night (tendinitis right foot), play Thursday in Phoenix. The regular season begins in two weeks.
