Winter Haven, FL (My Sportsbook) - The Cleveland Indians signed outfielder Bernard Gilkey and pitcher Tim Crabtree to minor league contracts on Friday. Gilkey, a 12-year major league veteran, sat out last season. He is a career .275 hitter with 118 homers and 546 RBI. His best year came in 1996 while a member of the New York Mets. That season, he batted a career-high .317 with 30 homers and 117 runs batted in. Gilkey has also had stints with St. Louis, Arizona, Boston and Atlanta. Crabtree also missed the 2002 campaign while recovering from a shoulder injury. The seven-year veteran has a lifetime mark of 21-22 with a 4.20 ERA and nine saves. Crabtree has spent time with Toronto and Texas.
