Tampa, FL (My Sportsbook) - The New York Yankees agreed to terms on one- year contracts with first baseman/designated hitter Nick Johnson, outfielder Juan Rivera and pitcher Randy Choate. Terms of the deals were not announced. Johnson, who spent his first full season in pinstripes in 2002, finished his rookie season with a .243 batting average, 15 home runs and 58 RBI in 129 games. The 24-year-old Johnson has missed most of spring training with a wrist injury. Rivera, 24, was brought up to the major league club towards the end of last season and finished batting .265 in 28 games. The Dominican native did see some extensive playing time in the divisional series against Anaheim. He appeared in all four games against the Angels and had three hits and three RBI in 12 plate appearances. Choate has been used as a left-handed specialist out of the New York bullpen for the last three seasons. The 27-year-old Choate has made 77 relief appearances in his three year big league career. The Yankees also came to terms on one-year deals with pitchers Jason Anderson, Brandon Claussen, Alex Graman and Jorge DePaula, infielder Erick Almonte and outfielder Marcus Thames.
