Lake Forest, IL (My Sportsbook) - The Chicago Bears signed restricted free agent Ricky Manning, Jr. to an offer sheet on Friday. As per team policy, terms of the deal for the cornerback were not disclosed. Manning spent the first three seasons of his NFL career with the Carolina Panthers, who have until April 28 to match Chicago's offer. If they opt against that decision, they will receive the Bears' 2006 third-round draft choice as compensation. The UCLA product played in all 55 of Carolina's regular season and post season contests since being selected in the third round of the 2003 NFL draft, accruing 30 starts and 13 interceptions over that span. In 2003, Manning intercepted Donovan McNabb three times in the NFC Championship game to guide the Panthers past the Philadelphia Eagles and into their first-ever Super Bowl.
