SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) -The San Francisco 49ers signed unrestricted free agent safety Chad Williams to a contract on Wednesday. Williams played for four years with the Baltimore Ravens after being a sixth-round draft pick from Southern Mississippi in 2002. San Francisco coach Mike Nolan coached Williams during his stint as Ravens' defensive coordinator. He played 64 games with the Ravens, accumulating 158 total tackles, eight interceptions, three forced fumbles and 5.5 sacks. Williams has also scored three defensive touchdowns on interceptions returns, including one that he returned 98 yards for a touchdown in 2002. Copyright © 2005 The Associated Press.
