Atlanta, GA (My Sportsbook) - The Atlanta Thrashers have activated defenseman Chris Tamer from injured reserve. Tamer, 31, missed the first three games of the regular season and the final three pre-season contests with a back injury. He is among the four remaining players selected in the 1999 NHL Expansion Draft still with the Thrashers. Tamer was originally the Pittsburgh Penguins' fourth-round pick in the NHL Entry Draft in 1990. He played in 78 games for the Thrashers last season and had three goals and three assists. The Thrashers also announced Friday that defenseman Uwe Krupp has been placed on injured reserve. Krupp, 37, played in the Thrashers' regular-season opener at Carolina on October 11th, and has missed the last two games with back spasms. He signed with Atlanta as an unrestricted free agent on July 19, 2002.
