New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - The Dallas Mavericks were fined $150,000 by the NBA on Friday, while head coach Don Nelson and assistant coach Donnie Nelson have each been suspended for the first two games of the season. The team was fined for violating league rules prohibiting contact between NBA teams and players not yet eligible for the NBA Draft. The rules violation occurred in early June, 2002, when the Nelsons attended two private workouts involving ineligible players in Yugoslavia.
