Angola qualified for this year's FIFA World Cup after clinching the top spot in Group 4. The team managed a 1-0 victory over Nigeria and a 1-1 draw in Kano to secure its spot in Germany. Former Benefica striker and Angolan captain Akwa leads the team's offensive line. Akwa recorded three goals during the qualifying fixtures, including the game-winner against Nigeria. Head coach Gonclaves' top roster also includes Benfica forward Mantorras, Figueirido, Joao Pereira, Maurito and Ze Kalanga. Angola meets Group D opponent Portugal on June 11 at Cologne in its first group match.
