Omaha, NE (My Sportsbook) - Cory Vanderhook hit a game-winning two-run single in the bottom of the ninth to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 7-5 victory over Georgia Tech at the College World Series on Sunday. The Yellow Jackets had a 5-4 lead going into the ninth and appeared on to be on their way to the victory after recording outs on the first two Titans batters. But, Blake Davis hit a single, Brett Pill hit a double and Danny Dorn was issued an intentional walk to load the bases. Vanderhook then hit a ball that took a bad bounce and rolled away from shortstop Michael Fisher and allowed two runners to cross the plate. Brandon Tripp followed with a single to give the Titans a 7-5 lead and Ryan Paul shut down the Yellow Jackets in the bottom of the ninth to preserve the win. Tripp finished 3-for-5 with a triple, two RBI and a run scored and Paul got the win for pitching 1 2/3 scoreless innings for Cal State Fullerton. Matt Wieters hit a solo home run and scored two runs, but was charged with the loss for giving up the three runs in the ninth for Georgia Tech, which is now eliminated from play.
