New Orleans, LA (My Sportsbook) - The New Jersey Nets look to extend their winning streak to five games on Wednesday when they head to New Orleans to take on the Hornets at New Orleans Arena.

The Nets currently lead the Atlantic Division by 1 1/2 games over the Philadelphia 76ers to hold the second seed in the Eastern Conference. New Jersey trails the Detroit Pistons by 1 1/2 games for the top spot in the East.

The Nets won their fourth straight game on Monday by claiming a 110-86 victory over the Houston Rockets. Richard Jefferson recorded the first triple-double of his career with 30 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.

Jason Kidd, who buried 5-of-10 three-pointers, finished with 30 points and 12 rebounds for the Nets. Rodney Rogers had 12 points off the bench and Anthony Johnson netted 11 in the win.

The Nets were without forward Kenyon Martin, who suffered a sprained knee in Saturday's victory over Golden State. He and Lucious Harris (ankle) are doubtful for Wednesday's game.

New Jersey has won three of its last four road games and is 15-21 away from home this season. The Nets are 31-15 against the Eastern Conference.

The Hornets have dropped four of their last five games and most recently suffered a 95-86 loss to the Mavericks in Dallas on Tuesday.

Baron Davis scored 18 points for the Hornets, who lead Boston by just one-half game for fifth place in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics host the Miami Heat on Wednesday.

George Lynch scored 13 points and Jerome Moiso collected 12 points and 11 boards in the loss. Jamal Mashburn scored just 10 points on 4-of-13 shooting from the floor.

The Hornets played without David Wesley (foot) for the sixth straight contest.

New Orleans has lost three of its last four home games and is 25-12 in its building this season. The Hornets are 26-21 against the Eastern Conference.

These teams have met twice before this season, with the Nets winning both contests.

New Jersey has won five of the last six meetings overall. However, the Nets have dropped seven of their past nine road games against the Hornets.
