New York, NY (My Sportsbook) - The New Orleans Hornets will move to the Western Conference no later than the 2004-05 season. NBA owners approved the move Tuesday. The shift will allow an expansion team, which will begin play in Charlotte in 2004, to take the Hornets' place in the Eastern Conference. Deputy commissioner Russ Granik said the Hornets have the option to change conferences next season. The Hornets left Charlotte after last season. Their conference shift will place all Western Conference teams west of the Mississippi River. |
