Denver, CO (My Sportsbook) - St. Louis Cardinals reliever Lance Painter suffered a right hamstring injury during Thursday's game against Colorado and will likely be placed on the disabled list. Painter was hurt during the eighth inning of St. Louis' 7-6 loss. He threw a pitch, then collapsed to the ground in excruciating pain. After a few moments on the ground, he was helped off the field and taken to the locker room. The lefthander was on crutches after the game. He is expected to undergo an MRI exam on Friday. "I didn't feel anything before the pitch," Painter said. "I felt it pop. I'm in a little bit of pain right now." Painter did not pitch during the 2002 season after undergoing "Tommy John" surgery on his elbow in October of 2001.
