Boston, MA (My Sportsbook) - Boston Red Sox third base coach Mike Cubbage is expected to stay hospitalized overnight Saturday after he suffered a diabetic seizure and fell to the field during Saturday night's home opener versus Baltimore. Following the fifth inning, Cubbage had convulsions in the third base coach's box and members of both teams rushed out to help him. Cubbage was eventually taken off the field on a stretcher. Cubbage was given an IV with sugar and taken to Beth Israel Hospital for precautionary reasons. According to the Red Sox, he is alert and fine, but will be reevaluated on Sunday morning.
