Arlington, TX (My Sportsbook) - The Texas Rangers have placed outfielder Doug Glanville on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right hamstring. The move is retroactive to Tuesday, April 15. The 32-year-old Glanville suffered the injury while sprinting towards first base in the latter stages of the Rangers game on Monday. An MRI revealed a more severe strain than originally thought and will require at least a week to heal. Glanville, acquired in the offseason as a free agent, has been the everyday centerfielder for Texas this season. In 13 games, he has hit two home runs to go along with a .200 batting average. In a related move, Texas activated Kevin Mench. The Rangers Rookie of the Year in 2002, Mench has been on the DL in recent weeks after straining his right oblique muscle during spring training.
