NAPA, Calif. (AP) -Robert Gallery's move back to left tackle was temporarily put on hold Monday when the Oakland Raiders placed the third-year offensive lineman on the physically unable to perform list.

Gallery, the No. 2 overall pick in 2004, injured a quad muscle working out last week. Though the injury is not thought to be serious, team trainers and coach Art Shell opted to take a cautious approach.

``He was working out last weekend and he was trying to get that last oomph in and he strained his quad, so we're going to shut him down a little bit,'' Shell said.

Gallery and wide receiver Ronald Curry, who was also put on the PUP list, were the only two players Shell expected to miss the team's first training camp practice Tuesday. Running back LaMont Jordan was expected to report to camp late Monday after attending a funeral.

First-round draft pick Michael Huff was among those who arrived in Napa on time. The former Texas defensive back, picked seventh overall, is close to agreeing to a five-year deal with the Raiders worth $22.5 million.

Huff had not officially signed a contract before checking in at training camp, but told reporters he expected to do it before practice Tuesday.

``As soon as I was drafted I told my agent I wanted to be here, set a good example,'' Huff said. ``I'm happy to be on the field. The last game I played in was the Rose Bowl so I'm ready to play.''

The Raiders will hold 10 practices in Napa before flying to Canton, Ohio to play the Philadelphia Eagles in the Hall of Fame game on Aug. 6.
