(My Sportsbook) - Already 10 1/2 games back of the Yankees in the AL East, the Toronto Blue Jays attempt to turn around a miserable start as they continue their three-game set at Tropicana Field tonight against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Last night, the Blue Jays were out-hit 11-5 in a disappointing 4-3 loss to the Devil Rays. Eric Hinske drove in two runs and Josh Phelps went 2-for-4 for Toronto, which has lost five of its last six tilts. Jason Kershner (0-1) took the loss after he worked one-plus innings and allowed a hit and the go-ahead run. Toronto is now 2-7 on its season-long 11-game road trip. Mark Hendrickson takes the hill for Toronto tonight and will look to improve on his 1-2, 6.97 ERA start to the year. The lefthander is coming off a fine effort in his last outing, but did not earn a decision. Hendrickson allowed two runs on seven hits over six innings, but the Jays fell 7-3 to the Boston Red Sox and Toronto fell to 1-3 in Hendrickson's starts this season. The 28-year-old has faced the Devil Rays just once in his career, limiting them to a run and four hits over six innings last September. Toronto first baseman Carlos Delgado was held hitless in his two at-bats on Monday and is 0-for-10 slump in his last three games. The first baseman has homered 20 times against Tampa Bay, more than any other player. The 129 runs that Toronto has yielded thus far is the fourth-highest total in the majors.
