Anaheim, CA (My Sportsbook) - The New York Yankees placed righthanded reliever Antonio Osuna on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin. Osuna was injured in the eighth inning of Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Anaheim Angels. After delivering a pitch, Osuna felt a pain in his groin and was visibly upset after exiting the game. The 30-year-old Osuna appeared in nine games out of the bullpen for the 17-3 Yankees. He is 1-1 with a 1.59 ERA in 11/1/3 innings, surrendering 10 hits and only two earned runs while striking out 13. The Yankees bullpen is already without right-handed relievers Mariano Rivera and Steve Karsay, who are both sidelined with injuries. Al Reyes, who spent part of the 2002 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates, was recalled from Triple- A Columbus in Osuna's place. To make room for Reyes on the 40-man roster, New York transferred John Lieber from the 15-day to the 60-day DL.
