Flushing, NY (My Sportsbook) - The Houston Astros placed pitcher Brian Moehler on the 15-day disabled list Thursday due to discomfort in his right elbow. The move is retroactive to April 17th -- a day after he last pitched. Moehler has no record this season but a 7.90 earned run average in three starts. Moehler, who was scheduled to start Saturday at Montreal, has had tightness in his right forearm and returned to Houston for an MRI exam last week. The team believes that the dye used for the MRI may have caused Moehler's trouble. Scott Linebrink is scheduled to make his first major league start against the Expos. In a related move, the Astros recalled reliever Brandon Puffer from Triple-A New Orleans. |
