Flowery Branch, GA (My Sportsbook) - Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Brian Finneran is out for the season after suffering a serious right knee injury during a training camp workout Sunday night. An MRI confirmed that he tore the anterior cruciate ligament and also sustained cartilage damage and a slight displacement of the knee cap. He will undergo surgery on Wednesday or Thursday. The team placed him on injured reserve. Finneran fell to the ground in pain while planting his foot during a pass route. "Looking at the film, it was just one of those things that just happens in football sometimes where a guy plants his foot and there is a little contact, not much, and he can't get his foot out of the ground," said Falcons head coach Jim Mora. Finneran caught 50 passes for 611 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games, including seven starts, for the Falcons last season.
