Ashburn, VA (My Sportsbook) - The Washington Redskins on Monday announced that guard Tre Johnson has signed a one-year contract. Johnson, who was cut at the end of training camp by Cleveland, was a second- round draft pick in 1994 and played seven seasons for the Redskins. The Redskins cut Johnson for injury and salary cap reasons after the 2000 season. He signed with the Browns, but played in only three games last season before suffering a knee injury. Washington, which has allowed 22 sacks this season, needed a starting guard due to an injury to Brendan Stai. Two inexperienced linemen, David Loverne and Wilbert Brown, started in Sunday's 30-9 loss at Green Bay in which the Redskins allowed six sacks.
